Volunteer to Help Children at End of Life
Many families want their terminally ill children to spend the majority of their remaining time in the comfort of their own home surrounded by family, pets, and special belongings. Palliative care enables most terminally ill children to remain comfortably at home for as long as possible, returning to the hospital to receive palliative care as the end of life approaches. Sometimes children and families find the reassurance of the hospital environment more comforting, and many children develop close relationships with the nurses, volunteers and other children at the hospital.
