Experiences
Interns at Hospice of Palm Beach County conduct sessions with patients facing terminal illnesses and their families. The internship experience includes observation, coleading, an independent caseload, supervision, special projects, education programs, and an individualized approach to each student's educational needs. Teamwork
The music therapy department at Hospice of Palm Beach County is one of the largest of its kind in the country, with 10 full-time positions. MT’s work closely with other members of the interdisciplinary group including doctors, Registered Nurses, social workers, pastoral counselors, Licensed Massage Therapists, and volunteers. Resources
Interns have access to an extensive collection of resources and educational presentations. Inservices offered on a regular basis include HIV/AIDS update, domestic violence, cultural diversity, medical Spanish, and much more. The MT department provides monthly technique talks and music skills coaching. We also have a large inventory of instruments and equipment. Click here for more details.
Opportunities
We currently provide a six-month, 1040-hour clinical placement to four interns per year, starting in January, March, June, and September. A generous stipend is available to offset living expenses. Click here for more details.
