Interns at Hospice of Palm Beach County conduct sessions with patients facing terminal illnesses and their families. The music therapy department at Hospice of Palm Beach County is one of the largest of its kind in the country, with 10 full-time positions. MT’s work closely with other members of the interdisciplinary group including doctors, Registered Nurses, social workers, pastoral counselors, Licensed Massage Therapists, and volunteers. Interns have access to an extensive collection of resources and educational presentations. Inservices offered on a regular basis include HIV/AIDS update, domestic violence, cultural diversity, medical Spanish, and much more. We currently provide a six-month, 1040-hour clinical placement to four interns per year, starting in July, October, and February.
