Our voluneers

They’ve shown us, over and over again, just how much they value our organization.

Although we celebrate each year in February at our Volunteer Appreciation Luncheon, ‘thank you’ can never be said enough to our more than 700 volunteers. In addition, we’re grateful for the many individuals in our community who may not be “official” volunteers but nevertheless spend countless hours working on fundraising events to support our programs and services.

“Volunteers play a critical role in us reaching our mission,” says Dee Johnson, Manager of Volunteer Services. “They’re a valued part of the Hospice Team and we couldn’t possibly care for nearly 1,100 patients a day without our volunteers,” she says. Interfacing with staff or working closely with patients, they gave more than 56,000 hours last fiscal year. To say their role at Hospice of Palm Beach County is crucial is an understatement.
